皆さま、こんにちは。国境なき医師団（MSF）マラソン部です。
2月18日に東京マラソン財団からのアナウンスがありました通り、東京マラソン2020は、マラソンのエリート及び車いすエリートの部のみ開催されることになりました。3月1日のレース当日を楽しみに、これまでトレーニングに励まれたチャリティランナーの皆さまにおかれましては、残念に思われた方も多いかと思います。当日皆さまとお会いすることを楽しみにしていた国境なき医師団マラソン部のスタッフも非常に残念に思います。一方で、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大を受けて、ランナーや来場者、関係者の皆さまの健康と安全を守るためには、やむを得ない措置だと理解しております。 |

東京マラソン財団によりますと、今回エントリーされている皆さまにつきましては、2021大会で出走することが可能になるとのことです。エントリースケジュールなどの詳細については、東京マラソン財団が2020年4月1日以降に公表するとのことです。詳しい最新情報につきましては、東京マラソン2020公式ウェブサイトをご覧ください。

新型コロナウイルス（COVID-19）については日本国内においても感染が確認されています。
東京マラソン2020の開催に向け、感染症対策等の準備を進めておりましたが、東京都内における複数の感染者が確認される中、多くの一般ランナーが参加する本大会を実施することは困難であるとの結論に達しました。
このため、東京マラソン2020については、マラソンのエリート及び車いすエリートの部のみを開催することといたします。
東京マラソン2020に参加を予定していたランナー(エリート除く)の皆様につきまして、以下のとおりの措置を実施いたしますので、ご理解とご協力のほどよろしくお願い申し上げます。 |

１ 措置内容
今回限りの措置として、翌年の東京マラソン2021に出走することを可能とします。
東京マラソン2021にエントリーする場合には、別途参加料の入金が必要となります。
東京マラソン2020の参加料及びチャリティ寄付金は返金いたしません（募集要項のエントリー規約に基づきます）。
東京マラソン2020シグネチャーTシャツ購入者には、2020大会終了後Tシャツを発送いたします。 |

東京マラソン2020に参加を予定していたランナー(エリート除く) |

３ その他
東京マラソン2021へのエントリースケジュールなどの詳細については、2020年4月1日以降、改めてご連絡いたします。

| Dear MSF charity runners at Tokyo Marathon 2020 Charity |

|
|
| Hello Charity Runners! We are Médecins Sans Frontières Japon / Doctors Without Borders Japan (MSFJ) Marathon Club. The Tokyo Marathon 2020 will be held only for the marathon elites and wheelchair elites. Most of you must be disappointed especially because you have been training very hard for the March 1 race. We are also disappointed that we cannot meet you on the race day. At the same time, we understand the decision was made in the best interest of everyone’s safety due to several confirmed cases of COVID-19 within Tokyo. |

| According to the Tokyo Marathon Foundation, the registered runners are allowed to defer their entry to the Tokyo Marathon 2021. Further information on the entry deferral will be announced by Tokyo Marathon Foundation after April 1, 2020. Please follow the link for the latest information. |

| New cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) have been confirmed within Japan. |
|
|
|
|
| We have been preparing for the Tokyo Marathon 2020 (Sunday, March 1) while implementing preventive safety measures, however, now that case of COVID-19 has been confirmed within Tokyo, we cannot continue to launch the event within the scale we originally anticipated and we regret to inform you the following: |
|
|
|
|
| The Tokyo Marathon 2020 will be held only for the marathon elites and the wheelchair elites. |
|
|
|
|
| For registered runners of Tokyo Marathon 2020 (semi-elite, general, charity, and 10km), please carefully read the following conditions and we sincerely request for your understanding. |
|
|
|
|
1. Available Option
We will allow all registered runners to defer their entry to the Tokyo Marathon 2021.
Runners who have deferred their entry to the Tokyo Marathon 2021 are required to pay the entry fees for the 2021 event.
Abiding to the Entry Regulation, the entry fee and the donations received for the Tokyo Marathon 2020 will not be refunded.
Runners who have purchased the Tokyo Marathon 2020 Signature T-shirt, the item will be shipped following the event. |

2. Eligible Runners
All registered runners of Tokyo Marathon 2020 (semi-elite, general, charity, 10km) |
|
|
|
|
3. Note
Please be aware that depending on further situations, the conditions may change. |
|
|
|
|
| Further information on the entry deferral to the Tokyo Marathon 2021 will be announced following April 1, 2020. |
|
|
|
|
| Your donation will be used for MSF activities in 2020 at our reconstructive surgery hospital in Amman, Jordan. |
|
|
|
|
