PREPARATORY COURSE

MSF JAPAN 'WELCOME DAYS

Preparatory Course for first mission volunteers

MSF-Japan will hold a short training course for those going to work in the field with MSF. This course provides the opportunity to understand the reality of life in the field and the humanitarian work undertaken by MSF volunteers. It is not only for medical personnel but also for non-medical, such as logisticians and administrators. The course is presented in English.

Objective

This course aims to provide essential information and knowledge of MSF field activities. It is basically for candidates who are able to leave for the field in near future and is designed to:

  • Encourage participants to develop their own thoughts on MSF and to question their involvement in field work.
  • Expose participants to the important issues of the field.
  • Give participants an understanding of team decision-making in the field.
  • Provide information on humanitarian activities generally and MSF's activities specifically.

Content

The course involves lectures, group work and role play.
